March 21: Annual Kahtoola Challenge up Baldy Mountain
Ketchum, ID, at Sun Valley Mountain. Start time TBD.
Hosted by the Elephant's Perch. The 3200 vertical feet of Sun Valley's amazing downhill slopes offer the uphill enthusiast a real challenge. We start at the base of the mountain and head up a dedicated route on Lower River Run, Hershey Highway, and Lower and Upper College to the summit at 9200 feet. There is a snowshoe class, and a class for skis and skins. This course is very consistent up the entire way; no flat-baby-angle slopes in this one, it is a real challenge! Preregister at the Elephant's Perch. |
